One thing we (SCP Community staff) heard from the elders was that people used to help each other out regarding transportation issues. They said that whenever anyone was planning on "going to town", they would let their neighbors know. They would say, "I'm going to town on Thursday. You need anything? You want to ride along?" They did it that way because "back then" not everyone had a car. That was how they helped each other out.
Have you heard stories about this type of transportation helping behavior too? Do you have ideas about transportation issues and solutions that AR should include in the Transportation Element of the Sustainable Community Project? If so, there are a few ways you can communicate those.
At the Spokane Tribal Admin building there is a table where you can pick up a survey, or two if you have a family member or friend who can fill one out. There is a bonus if you do this. You can get yourself entered in a raffle, and you might win a $100.00 gift certificate to GameStop.
There is also an email circulating that you can fill out and return via email. Of course, each and every one of you are always welcome to stop in the AR office and visit, face to face, old style.
You can also find the surveys right here on the blogspot. Just print, complete, email, comment here on the blogspot, or deliver to the AR office. AR address and other contact information is listed below. AR would like to have these surveys returned by February 15, so get out there and let your ideas be heard.
